Annie Anderton - About Me
Life for us all is a complex collection of experiences. Some are affirming and build us up, some are challenging and bring us down while others make no sense at all and leave us feeling confused. I don't know what situations have brought you to this point in time and to be reading this profile, but I hope wherever you are in life, you find the help and support I believe everyone deserves.
I am an integrative therapist drawing from psychodynamic, person centred, and compassion focused models. This means I meet you in your current experiences while thinking about how past experiences have affected you while understanding the drives that make us respond.
I am a deeply passionate person who will try my utmost to meet you in whatever you have experienced through my compassionate, creative, non-judgemental, ethical approach. The time we spend together will be about you and your experiences of the world.
When I’m not counselling I can be found playing Pokémon on my Nintendo Switch in Starbucks or mentoring counselling students through their placements at The Listening Post.

Training, Qualifications & Experience
I have worked therapeutically with people for over 15 years. I started working in children's palliative care with children whose siblings were unwell before working for a national childhood bereavement charity as a senior practitioner working with both adults and children following the death of an important person by suicide, accident, illness or homicide.
From here, I further qualified in Therapeutic Counselling and now my focus is on seeing clients privately in my counselling room in Gloucester as well as for the NHS and The Listening Post.
I’ve completed many courses and qualifications in working with children and young people and adults including integrative counselling, trauma, compassion focussed therapy, dialectical behaviour skills, grief and loss as well as safeguarding, equality and diversity and ethical practice.
